Delhi Red Fort Car Blast Declared Terrorist Attack; Centre Passes Resolution

On the evening of November 10, 2025, a powerful car explosion near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi claimed nine lives and injured over 20 people. The blast occurred in a white Hyundai i20 car stopped at a traffic signal, shaking the area with a deadly explosion that damaged nearby vehicles and harmed pedestrians.
The Indian government has officially classified the incident as a terrorist attack, with the Centre passing a strong resolution condemning the act. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have taken swift action, with Modi visiting the injured at Lok Nayak Hospital and leading security meetings to address the situation.
Investigations led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Delhi Police, and other security forces have revealed the blast involved high-grade explosives including ammonium nitrate. The suspected bomber, identified as Dr. Umar Nabi, reportedly panicked and detonated the explosives after key members of his terror module were arrested earlier. This terror module is linked to the Pakistan-based group Jaish-e-Mohammed, which had been planning a large-scale attack targeting Delhi landmarks such as the Constitution Club, India Gate, and the Red Fort.
CCTV footage shows the Hyundai i20 car moving slowly before the explosion, and investigations uncovered that the vehicle was parked in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area for hours before the blast. Authorities are monitoring closely for further potential threats and have heightened security in sensitive areas.
The Cabinet’s resolution condemns the “cowardly and dastardly” attack, pledges justice for the victims, and promises a comprehensive probe to apprehend all responsible individuals. Public safety measures have been intensified as agencies work to dismantle the terror network behind the attack.
This tragic event has left the nation in shock but also determined to prevent such incidents and strengthen security against terror threats in India’s capital.
