Indian National Killed, Three Injured in Attacks on Dammam Airport and Aramco Oil Field in Saudi Arabia

An Indian national was killed and three others were injured in two separate attacks on Saudi Arabia’s Dammam airport and an Aramco oil field, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday. India has strongly condemned the attacks and demanded an immediate end to strikes on civilian and critical infrastructure.

The attacks took place on October 21. They targeted King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and Saudi Aramco’s Shaybah oil field in the country’s Eastern Province.

    Attack at Dammam Airport

Saudi authorities said two people were killed and eight injured in the attack on King Fahd International Airport. Among the dead was an Indian national, while two other Indians were injured.

The airport is one of the major aviation hubs in eastern Saudi Arabia. Authorities said flights have resumed after the attack, though investigations into the incident are continuing.

    Strike Near Shaybah Oil Field

In a separate incident, Saudi air defences intercepted a drone targeting an Aramco processing facility at the Shaybah oil field. Falling debris caused a contractor’s vehicle to catch fire.

Two foreign workers were killed in the fire, while an Indian national and a Pakistani national were injured. Saudi officials said oil production was not affected by the incident.

    India Condemns Attacks

The Ministry of External Affairs said India condemned the attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. It described such attacks as “completely unacceptable” and called for their immediate cessation.

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh said it is in touch with the families of the affected Indian nationals. Officials are gathering more information about their condition and extending necessary assistance.

    Wider Security Concern

The attacks have raised fresh concerns about the security of airports, oil facilities and other key infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The incidents come amid a broader wave of missile and drone attacks linked to Yemen’s Houthis in the region.

Saudi Arabia has not officially attributed the Dammam airport attack. However, the strikes have intensified concerns over regional stability and the safety of Indian workers living and working in the Gulf country.
