PM Modi’s New Address: Seva Teerth Ushers Service Over Slavery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Seva Teerth, the new Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) complex in New Delhi on February 13, 2026. This marks a pivotal shift with Kartavya Bhavan-1 and 2, moving from colonial shadows to a service-focused era.

Groundbreaking New Hub

Seva Teerth integrates the PMO, National Security Council Secretariat, and Cabinet Secretariat. Nearby Kartavya Bhavans house key ministries like Finance, Defence, Health, and Education. In his 6 PM address, Modi called it a “resolve to serve,” echoing “Nagrik Devo Bhava” – citizens as divine.

Unlike elevated colonial North and South Blocks (now museums), its ground-level design promotes equality and accessibility.

End of Slavery Mindset

Modi declared India free from “slavery mindset” and “colonial hangover,” pointing to Rajpath’s rename to Kartavya Path and Mughal Garden to Amrit Udyan. “We serve, not rule,” he affirmed, targeting “Citizen First” for Viksit Bharat 2047.

Smart Savings Ahead

The setup cuts ₹1,500 crore yearly in rent and logistics, boosting efficiency for 140 crore Indians.

Seva Teerth redefines governance – a new address for a new India.
