“We Only Hit the Guilty”: Rajnath Singh on India’s Operation Sindoor Airstrikes

India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today praised the Indian armed forces for their precise and restrained execution of Operation Sindoor, a major airstrike campaign targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The operation was carried out in retaliation for the deadly Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, which killed 25 tourists and a local pony ride operator.

Speaking at the inauguration of 50 infrastructure projects by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Mr. Singh called Operation Sindoor a “historic” mission.

He said, “We only struck those who killed our innocents,” quoting a line from the Ramayana to emphasize the operation’s moral clarity and focused intent.

The Indian Air Force executed 24 missile strikes in 23 minutes, hitting nine terror-linked locations across Pakistan’s Punjab province and PoK. High-precision weapons like SCALP missiles and AASM Hammer bombs were used from Rafale jets to target terror camps linked with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The Defence Minister emphasized that no Pakistani military or civilian structures were targeted.

“The operation was carried out with caution, precision, and sensitivity,” Singh said, highlighting India’s effort to avoid collateral damage.

India has maintained that the operation was strictly retaliatory, responding to the proven cross-border involvement in the Pahalgam attack, with intelligence pointing to Pakistan-based terror outfits.
