Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat during the ‘Dhwajarohan’ ceremony at the Ram Temple, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh
On November 25, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremoniously hoisted the saffron flag, known as the Dharma Dhwaj, atop the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. This event marked the formal completion of the temple’s construction after years of devoted effort. The saffron flag, triangular in shape and bearing revered symbols such as the radiant Sun, the sacred Om, and the Kovidara tree, stands as a powerful emblem of spiritual strength and cultural pride.
The Ram Mandir, built in traditional North Indian Nagara architectural style, now also includes six smaller temples dedicated to gods like Shiva, Ganesh, Hanuman, and Annapurna, as well as mandapas honoring great sages. The completion was celebrated on Vivah Panchami, the divine wedding day of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, adding deep religious significance to the occasion.
Alongside hoisting the flag, Prime Minister Modi conducted pooja and darshan at the temple complex, including visits to other temples within the precinct. Thousands of devotees and dignitaries, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, witnessed this milestone event.
The completion of Ram Mandir not only marks a new chapter for Ayodhya as a center of spiritual and cultural heritage but also symbolizes resilience and unity. The temple is expected to boost religious tourism further, drawing millions of devotees annually. Enhanced infrastructure like the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport and improved road connectivity supports this transformation.
This flag-hoisting ceremony represents more than a construction milestone; it is a significant cultural and spiritual event that reaffirms India’s traditions and values, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among millions across the country. The Ram Mandir now stands fully operational for continuous worship, embodying a bridge between ancient faith and a progressive future.
This momentous occasion highlights devotion, tradition, and the aspiration for harmony in one of the most historically and culturally significant religious sites in India.
