On November 25, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremoniously hoisted the saffron flag, known as the Dharma Dhwaj, atop the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. This event marked the formal completion of the temple’s construction after years of devoted effort. The saffron flag, triangular in shape and bearing revered symbols such as the radiant Sun, the sacred Om, and the Kovidara tree, stands as a powerful emblem of spiritual strength and cultural pride.
The Ram Mandir, built in traditional North Indian Nagara architectural style, now also includes six smaller temples dedicated to gods like Shiva, Ganesh, Hanuman, and Annapurna, as well as mandapas honoring great sages. The completion was celebrated on Vivah Panchami, the divine wedding day of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, adding deep religious significance to the occasion.
Alongside hoisting the flag, Prime Minister Modi conducted pooja and darshan at the temple complex, including visits to other temples within the precinct. Thousands of devotees and dignitaries, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, witnessed this milestone event.
