On November 2, 2025, Indian cricket witnessed a day that will be remembered for generations—our women’s team lifted the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, defeating South Africa by 52 runs at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. It’s not a story of just another trophy but a tale of dreams, courage, and grit that every Indian can relate to.
Proudly led by Harmanpreet Kaur, Team India batted first, powering their way to 298 runs, thanks to a fearless knock by Shafali Verma (87 off 78 balls) and the poise of Deepti Sharma, who contributed both with bat (58 vital runs) and later with the ball, bagging a stunning five-wicket haul. South Africa, despite Laura Wolvaardt’s fighting century, simply could not break India’s will. The stadium echoed with chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai!” as our girls claimed the last wicket, bringing the World Cup home for the first time in history.
This victory is about much more than cricket. It marks a new beginning for Indian women in sports, inspiring millions of young girls and proving that the spirit of Team India knows no bounds. After heartbreaks in 2005 and 2017 finals, the Indian women’s team refused to bow down, rewriting destiny where it matters most—on home soil!
Let every Indian take a moment to salute Harmanpreet’s leadership, the team’s relentless ambition, and the unstoppable force that is Indian women’s cricket today. The world now knows: When Indian women set their sights on glory, there is no stopping them!
