On November 2, 2025, Indian cricket witnessed a day that will be remembered for generations—our women’s team lifted the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, defeating South Africa by 52 runs at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. It’s not a story of just another trophy but a tale of dreams, courage, and grit that every Indian can relate to.
Proudly led by Harmanpreet Kaur, Team India batted first, powering their way to 298 runs, thanks to a fearless knock by Shafali Verma (87 off 78 balls) and the poise of Deepti Sharma, who contributed both with bat (58 vital runs) and later with the ball, bagging a stunning five-wicket haul. South Africa, despite Laura Wolvaardt’s fighting century, simply could not break India’s will.
